Top Gear Series 21 starts 2nd February
Last weekend we brought you the first trailer for series 21 of Top Gear, although it basically consisted of Jeremy Clarkson moaning about lorries whilst driving a VW up! At that time, the BBC were still being cagey about when the new series of Top Gear (although we did expect it to start on 2nd Feb), but now BBC Media have managed to add it to their official schedule details so it’s now officially confirmed to start on 2nd Feb. Now we get a new trailer for the new TG Series, and this one is much more typical with mayhem and nonsense abounding including 1980s hot hatches, lorry racing, supercars, quad bikes on water, tanks and, of course, the McLaren P1.
2012 Bentley Continental GTC raises £240k for Children in Need
The 2012 Bentley Continental GTC was only revealed at Frankfurt in September, and is currently getting its North American debut in L.A. But Bentley have already sold one to a generous UK buyer who stumped up £240k at a charity auction last night in aid of BBC Children in Need. The event – at Manchester’s Hilton Hotel and organised by Bentley Manchester – was hosted by the seemingly ubiquitous Gary Barlow, and had in attendance a plethora of celeb faces, including Lorraine Kelly, JLS, Chris Moyles and – as it’s Children in Need – Sir Tel of Wogan.

The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both seem like ‘new’ Range Rovers, but that’s not stopping Land Rover from updating both models for 2015. Under the bonnet, the SDV8 gets tweaked to deliver an extra 29lb/ft of torque – now with 545lb/ft – and a fuller torque curve between 1700 and 3300rpm. The effect of that extra torque is an improvement of 6.5 per cent in in-gear acceleration from fifth to eighth gear and better towing ability.
